Today we remember and honor all those who served our country, who sacrificed their time, health, and sometimes their lives so that we could have a peaceful, safe, and free land.  My father and grandfather both served in the Canadian Armed Forces.  They understood the price of freedom.  They loved their country and were willing to defend it. I am grateful for their example.  I am grateful for all those who put their lives on the line for us.  May we not forget their sacrifice.  May we strive to keep this land a place where people have the freedom to worship, to congregate, to voice their opinions and publish their thoughts, and all the other freedoms that the founding fathers envisioned for their children. May we not forget what a rare and special privilege it is to live in a country that has these freedoms.
